Hi Nadine, what a real treat to read this and I totally can hear your voice . So sorry about your dad,. What a gift you were to him. I'm sure of that. xxx
Wow — a friend sent me this newsletter (I am subscribing after I post this comment!) and can’t tell you how much I appreciate your candor and hope and, most of all, your voice. Thank you for your honesty! Wishing you all good things in 2024, including the memories you’d like to hold close from this year.
Thank you so much, Kara! I missed seeing your comment in all the excitement of the new year. Hoping your 2024 is going great so far (mine is already infinitely better, thankfully).
Brava, Nadine! Brave, indeed! Here’s hoping that 2024 gives you all that you need. This first-time screenwriter (adapting my own novel for a feature film) is 9 drafts in and grateful to read your journey. Your insights and candor inspire!
I absolutely love when you send out an email to read. I'm so sorry you have had such a roller coaster of a year. I 100% agree our generation doesn't talk enough about caring for aging parents. That is all I have done, it feels, since I left CA. Its not true, but the hard stuff is what pulls focus. Keep on doing your thing, you are bound for greatness (you're great now) I am always rooting for you. When you write things like this some of us feel less alone in our unspoken burdens, as we aren't quite as eloquent as you at sharing them. Your ability to make hard things relatable is a GIFT. Keep sharing and keep hoping.
Thank you, Coby, you are always so kind and I'm very grateful for you! I'm so sorry to hear about your parents - I hope it gets easier and you have all the support. Sending you big hugs. xoxo
