Hello!

I’m Nadine Jolie Courtney (she/her), a TV/feature writer, author, and mom in Santa Monica.

I spent fifteen years as a beauty, lifestyle, and travel journalist and published four books before writing my first script, which I eventually sold to/developed with [insert huge streamer here]. Since then, I’ve developed two shows for [other huge streamer], have done feature rewrites for [company I’m obsessed with], and am usually in the middle of juggling multiple projects, including my next novel.

I moved a ton as a kid: twelve schools, ten states, and three countries - including war-torn Iraq in the 80s. In very much related news, my Jordanian dad was a [redacted] for most of my childhood, which resulted in fun shenanigans like our mailbox getting bombed, cars trailing me, tapped phones, and defaced cars. Unsurprisingly, my favorite stories are now about outsiders, privilege, and the American Dream. And secrets. Lots of secrets.

After graduating from Barnard College, I spent time as an assistant to [famous British royal] and three crazy years as the business manager to a polo player. (We did seasons in Palm Beach and England! I was in my 20s! It was unspeakably fun!)

Switching gears, I was the first professional beauty blogger (google “Jolie in NYC beauty blog” if you want a rabbit hole), which led to me being Dooced, magazine companies like Hearst and Condé Nast instituting their first social media policies, and surreal things like a HBS case study and a New York Times op-ed about me. I don’t have much time to blog anymore, but I do write a Substack recap every year taking stock of my progress as a working screenwriter.

Finally, yes, my husband and I were on a Bravo show. Everybody makes mistakes.

’Tis all. Thanks for poking around my little corner of the internet!
